Oi friends and family! Sorry for the lack of emails but these last few weeks have been pretty wild. But Im still alive! Sobreviva for you portuguese speakers out there lol.
I won~t lie i was pretty nervous about my companion at the beginning. but turns out she just had dengue so we are cool now! week two was spent in a different area with the two other sisters in our district so that she could rest and I wouldn´t get behind on training. Last week we made it back to Acariquara. Sooo hot and soo humid. My skin seriously feels like a sticky hand all the time haha.
I still kinda have no idea what anyone´s saying but the people are awesome. Razors and pants do not exist here. Lilia, the naked woman who lives upstairs, taught me to say ´´Pois e´ which slang for Í understand´ so thats what I always respond when someone asks me something that i actually didnt understand haha.
I get asked the best questions. People think I´m some kind of sweaty alien.
Missions are hard but as my mission president likes to say at every zone conference, ´Tovey was barfing the first night and her companion had dengue and she´s still here´ so basically you can do anything you put your mind to! The church is true and Manaus is hot but so fun. Amo vocês:)
Also one day I will figure out how to send pictures
